Deputy Maha CM Fadnavis rages over ‘fake news’ circulation

Bombay, Maharashtra: During a recent press conference addressed by Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for endorsing an “electronics manufacturing cluster” in the state. He also spoke of the “false narratives” spread by certain sections of society that most major projects were not entrusted to the state and that they all came out of the hands of the Maharastra government.

Regarding these big projects that get out of control and spread fake news, Fadnavis said, “First about Foxconn, I have already mentioned that Subash Desai (former Minister of Industry) said that the project Foxconn would not come to Maharashtra. About the Tata Airbus project, they are setting up a false narrative. When I learned that Tata was going to Gujarat, I asked Tata to come to Nagpur when we are in opposition.

He added: ‘When I was the leader of the opposition, the project’s Tata spokesman said he was not suitable for business here in Maharashtra. I was told by a Tata manager that they were going to Gujarat a year ago. Some people say that all projects go to Gujarat, but that is not fair. Projects and investments are also going to other states.

Notably, MP CM says he aims to attract more investors to the state in the coming years. He also expressed his idea of taking the state first for such business investments which would bring investors to Maharashtra. He urged people not to spread fake news and not listen to such news.
